Anselm joined SIM as an Associate Lecturer, International Relations (UOL) in 2013. He joined SIM full time in November 2014 as the Head, Career Development. He is appointed as Director, International Development Division in August 2015.


After more than a decade of illustrious careers with US MNCs (namely MacDonald’s, American International Assurance, R.R. Donnelley, United Parcel Service, Hertz Asia Pacific), Anselm made a mid-career foray into education in 2005. His passion for youth development and education culminated in another decade of careers in the Education sector. He served as the Head of Department, Leadership Development & Career Guidance in Raffles Girls School (Secondary) in Singapore; Vice President, Strategic Development (China & ASEAN) of an education consultancy practice; Programme Director (International), College of International Education, Shandong University; Deputy CEO & Chief International Education Officer of an Education Investment Group (Based in China).
Anselm’s passion in teaching is strong. He is an Associate Lecturer (International Relations & Political Science), SIM-University of London. He was an Adjunct Lecturer (History, China Studies) at NUS High School. He was a Senior Lecturer (Contemporary China) at Confucius Institute and an Adjunct Lecturer (China Foreign Policy), College of International Education, Shandong University.


His passion in voluntary service & youth development spans 2 decades – he was the Former National Chairman, People’s Association Youth Movement; Vice President, ASEAN Youth Council; Director, Regional Advisory Board, Commonwealth Youth Asia Centre; Council Member of National Youth Council (Singapore); Honorary Inspector of National Police Cadet Corps & Voluntary Special Constabulary; and Founder, Global Youth Congress. In view of his contributions to youth development, he was awarded the PAYM Youth Award 1992 & 1996 and Commissioner of Police Testimonial Award 2004.
He obtained B.A. (Political Science & History) from National University of Singapore (NUS) and M.A. (Contemporary China) from Nanyang Technological University (NTU).

Sun Qian

Professor and Head of Department of Finance, Fudan Management School, Fudan University, People’s Republic of China

Prior to joining Fudan University, Professor Sun Qian had taught at Nanyang Technological University (NTU) in Singapore and served as the Dean of the Institute for Financial and Accounting Studies at Xiamen University in China. He currently serves on the Board of Asian Finance Association and Asian Financial Regulatory Committee. He has also held visiting positions including Visiting Professor at the Graduate School of the People’s Bank and Senior Visiting Financial Economist at the Shanghai Stock Exchange. He has been an external examiner for a few schools in Malaysia, Thailand, Singapore, New Zealand and Australia. He obtained his BA, MBA and PhD from Peking University, William Paterson College, and Arizona State University, respectively.

 

Professor Sun has published more than 25 papers in reputable finance journals on financial markets, foreign direct investments, privatization process, dividend policy and cross-listings. He has been invited to give talks in many conferences and schools internationally. He has also taught a wide array of courses in finance, including corporate finance, investments, international finance, and portfolio management.

Timothy Chan

Director, Academic Division, Singapore Institute of Management Global Education (SIM GE)

Dr Timothy Chan is a member of the Joint Education Committee, CPA Australia (Singapore Division) and the Honorary Secretary of Singapore Computer Society. Dr Chan has taught undergraduate and postgraduate courses in information technology, management accounting and financial management, and published an accounting textbook adopted by universities. His current research is in design thinking. He has served as an external advisor/consultant for a number of government agencies and universities in Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong, and the United Kingdom. Dr Chan is a Fellow of the Singapore Computer Society and a Fellow of CPA (Australia). He received his 25-year long service medal award from the Ministry of Education (Singapore) in 2012.

 

Dr Chan holds a Bachelor of Science (Computer Science and Management Accounting) from the University of Western Australia, Masters of Science (Internal Auditing and Management) from City University, London and PhD (Education) from the University of Nottingham.

Aaron Tan

Dr Aaron Tan’s key areas of responsibility at SIM GE include overseeing the selection and appointment of associate lecturers, performance management and their professional development; pedagogy development and innovation; education technology implementation; and student learning support. Dr Tan has been instrumental in the institution’s drive towards academic quality and their student outcomes.

 

Prior to joining SIM GE, Dr Tan spent about 15 years of his academic career at Nanyang Polytechnic where he started out as a lecturer and was eventually appointed to the position of Assistant Director of a Technology Centre in the School of Engineering. Concurrent with that appointment, he was also the Assistant Director of the Centre of Innovation for Electronics, Curriculum Review Cluster Chairman, Professional Development Course Coordinator and Student Development Team Leader, to name a few.

Alan Koh

Head of Educational Technology and Professional Development Department, Senior Lecturer, Teaching and Learning Division, Singapore Institute of Management Global Education (SIM GE)

Alan Koh is the head of Educational Development and Innovation, a department within Singapore Institute of Management (SIM GE) which oversees the management of educational technologies for the institution. The portfolio of the department includes the administration of the learning management system; the management of the classroom replay system; integration between different platforms; instructional design; production of e-learning courseware, videos, e-games, mobile apps, and e-books. The department is also responsible for exploring new technologies, conceptualize their design and implement their use in SIM GE.

 

Prior to assuming his current post, Alan was head of courseware development and lecturer development in SIM GE. He was a lecturer at National University of Singapore (NUS) prior to joining SIM GE, teaching subjects in HR, professional development and communication, and change and industrial management. He also taught business and social-science subject areas in Nanyang Polytechnic and at several Canadian universities.

Tan Khay Boon

Dr Tan Khay Boon is an assistant Editor of the Singapore Economic Review.  He began his teaching career in 1995 as a lecturer at the Temasek Business School, Temasek Polytechnic, before moving on to lecture in Economics in the School of Humanities and Social Sciences, Nanyang Technological University (NTU) and the School of Business, SIM University (UniSIM). During his teaching career, Dr Tan has taught various economic modules including international economics, macroeconomics, managerial economics, econometrics, time series analysis and forecasting. He has also published his research in reputed journals and daily newspapers. He holds a PhD from Nanyang Technological University, Master of Social Science in Economics and Bachelor of Social Science.

Zhang Jianlin

Head of Programme, Singapore Institute of Management Global Education (SIM GE)

Dr Zhang Jianlin is the Head of SIM GE-University of London International Program (UOLIP). At SIM GE, he provides academic oversight of the UOLIP in the fields of Accounting, Economics, Finance and Social Sciences. He joined SIM GE in 2002. Before that, he taught economics at the London School of Economics and Political Science.

 

His current research is in the areas of experimental and behavioural economics; specifically include investigating economics of social preferences, experimental asset markets and other related areas using laboratory controlled and field experiments. He has published his research in leading internationally refereed journals such as Economic Inquiry and others. He also actively disseminated his research works in international conferences including 9th World Congress of the Econometric Society.

kelvin yeow

Kelvin Yeow

Kelvin is a manager at the International Development Division of Singapore Institute of Management Global Education (SIM GE). His role is primarily on academic management of the collaboration between UPH and SIM GE in Surabaya.

 

Prior to joining SIM GE, Kelvin was the Programme Director for the Business and Hospitality Programmes of Raffles College of Higher Education in Singapore. His previous professional and academic experience include being Head of a Curriculum Developing Team at Singapore Technologies (ST) Electronics (eSERV). His team managed projects which included providing educational consultation advices and courseware creation services to key clients from various Government ministries such as the Ministry of Defence (MINDEF), Ministry of Education (MOE) and the Infocomm Development Authority of Singapore (IDA).

Kelvin also has extensive knowledge in curriculum development, pedagogic application to educational programmes and Instructional Design frameworks gained from his academic and professional experience.

Christina Choo

Christina graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the National University of Singapore (NUS). She joined SIM in July 2012 as an Assistant Manager to drive overseas marketing and international student recruitment for the institute by promoting the brand name of SIM Group and planning for marketing and recruitment strategies for overseas markets. In September 2015, she is appointed as an Assistant Manager of a newly setup Business Development department in International Development Division, in support of SIM corporate goals of the division in expanding SIM beyond Singapore.

With more than 10 years experience in education sector, Christina’s constant interaction with people from various levels and operational business processes has enabled her to work well with diverse parties throughout the tasks she is entrusted with.

Kenneth Chiam

Kenneth Chiam is the founder and director of GlobalHomestay Services, a hospitality business providing homestay accommodation and travel-related services to short-term visitors on leisure, business, international students and educational exchange programmes.

 

Among his consulting portfolio includes assisting a Singapore-based research institute to secure a funding of S$22 million by performing a financial analysis of their business model, assessment of the commercial viability of several intellectual properties, spin-off developments and a market resonance of the institute’s financial prospects.

 

Back at Nanyang Technological University(NTU), he is an adjunct lecturer since 2006, for undergraduate & executive level entrepreneurship courses focusing on business related subjects such as business planning, marketing, strategies, business simulation, accounting and finance and is also an associate lecturer with several other institutions.

Gan Chin Yean started his career as an engineer in General Electric (USA) Motors Pte Ltd. He subsequently worked in two American multi-nationals progressing from a Manufacturing Engineering position to a Managing Director position in his last company from 1996 to 2012.

 

He started teaching as an associate lecturer in SIM teaching in the Open University (UK) business program. In SIM University, he also wrote assessments and developed courses in management, marketing and strategy. He is currently the course chair for the Strategy module, which is a capstone course for graduating students.

Chin Yean has 13 years of teaching and related academic experience teaching students at diploma and undergraduate levels.

Christina Tay

Christina Tay started her career as an Audit Associate with Ernst & Young. She then became an accountant, finance manager and then financial controller.

 

She set up offices in various parts of Asia and was in charge of the finance and accounting, investment, taxation, human resource, logistic, information system and customer service departments.

 

Her passion in Sports and Education led to a career switch; first as the Chief Executive Officer of a national sports association then a Director of a private education association.

 

To further pursue her interest in education, she joined SIM as an Associate lecturer, teaching managerial accounting and financial accounting at diploma level and degree level.

Henry Koh

Henry Koh has extensive experience in employing innovative learning and training pedagogy and methodology in Leadership and Team Development and Implementation works, and lecturing in Universities. In the areas of training and development works, he had worked and coached many individuals and teams, also facilitated team-building workshops in both public and private sectors.

 

In teaching, he has taught over 400 undergraduates on Leadership, Organisational Behaviour, Culture and Development, Human Resource Management and Applied Positive Psychology.

 

He has a good reputation and great career with the Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) and was instrumental in the research, conceptualising and published some leadership doctrines across the SAF.

Ong Woon Pheng has been in the accounting and finance profession for more than 12 years and currently heads the financial advisory services department at CAS.

 

During his career, he has worked on numerous types of engagements including, accounting and financial reporting, business valuation, valuation for financial reporting, corporate secretarial, corporate and personal taxation, forensic accounting, litigation support, internal audit, merger and acquisition transactions, financial due diligence, liquidation and corporate restructuring.

 

He is also an adjunct faculty at SIM University and Kaplan Higher Education lecturing accounting and finance subjects.

jeanette ng

Jeanette Ng

Jeanette Ng advises organizations on how to drive and support sustainable business growth and implement expansion plans within the region. She combines strategic, operational, financial, legal and other drivers into a practical implementation framework.

 

She is also a course developer and associate faculty at SIM University and Singapore Institute of Management Global Education in Singapore.

 

She was previously the Global Head of Strategy for an international conglomerate and the former Chief Financial Officer of a leading chemicals group. She sat on cross-border Project Steering Committees for greenfield and brownfield projects as well as various boards of directors.

 

She has completed the Case Teaching and Case Writing programmes conducted by Richard Ivey Business School, Canada.

thum cheng cheong

Thum Cheng Cheong

Thum Cheng Cheong started his academic career at SIM GE in 2010. He practiced law in various law firms for 6 years after he was called to the bar in 1987. Thereafter, he continued his career in the banking industry as an in-house legal counsel for local and foreign banks.

He is currently the module leader for SIM GE diploma in management studies (Business Law). He has been engaged as a consultant to co-design the flipped classroom for Business Law and create the supporting on-line eResources.

He has also lectured Contract Law, Corporate Governance and Business Skills and Management for SIM University School of Business.

Other than academic teaching, he is an active trainer in the area of mind mapping and visual thinking for corporations and learning institutions. He has conducted Mind Mapping and Visual Thinking workshops for executives, managers, Head of departments, educators and lecturers in Singapore and overseas.

tony halim

Tony Halim
BEng, MEng, PhD

Dr Tony Halim is the Principal Consultant at the Analytics Consulting International, a boutique firm based in Singapore that engages in training and consultancy. Dr Halim also sits on the Training Advisory Committee for Singapore Logistics Association’s training arm, The Logistics Academy.

 

He started his career as an Engineer with STMicroelectronics before joining National University of Singapore (NUS) in Singapore where he joined as Research Engineer and he was reappointed as Research Fellow subsequently. He has been engaged as the Associate Faculty with SIM University (UniSIM) School of Business for more than 5 years and was awarded the Teaching Merit Award and Teaching Excellence Award in 2013 and 2014, respectively.

 

Besides teaching, he has co-developed several business subjects for UniSIM and has served as project supervisor for final year students. His research focuses on sustainable supply chain management and consumer business analytics. Having many years of experience as an engineer, Dr Halim has also published widely on industrial and systems engineering matters in several leading journals. He holds a PhD in Industrial Engineering.

Wang Weiping is a lecturer with UniSIM School of Business, Singapore. She has over 10 years of diverse experience in the Hospitality industry. She enjoys training people in customer service excellence, CRM techniques, and operations management.

 

Weiping began her career in hotels, working in the Reservations and Communications department for a luxury boutique hotel, before moving to work in the Front Office department with Ritz-Carlton Millenia, Singapore. After an interlude to pursue an MBA in Hospitality at Ecolehôtelière de Lausanne, Switzerland, Weiping returned to Singapore to head client services at Marina at Keppel Bay.

 

Currently, Weiping consults on general administration, service excellence, product development, and strategic business analysis in the Hospitality industry. She uses her expertise to assist local and foreign entrants particularly in the F&B market, who are aiming to promote cultural exchange between Singapore and other countries.

Jerome M Yeong

Jerome Yeong started his part-time academic career with various institutes of higher learning since July 2000, developing and lecturing on HR and Business related modules at Diploma to Bachelor degree course levels. He joined SIM University (UniSIM) as an associate faculty in the Business School from January 2006 onwards, teaching core programs like Management and Organizational Behavior. Currently, he is facilitating Business Strategy, a capstone module compulsory for all graduating Business students.


Other than academic teaching, he was also an active facilitator of adult learning based on competency programs, Workforce Skills Qualifications (WSQ) HR and Advanced Certificate in Training and Assessment (ACTA) for a few years.


Professionally, he is an active full-time HR practitioner with experiences spanning over more than two decades in both public and private sectors. His past experiences with major high-tech US MNCs also required him to help out with start-ups of HR departments in overseas subsidiaries, primarily in Malaysia and Indonesia. A seasoned change champion in HR and business processes in his career including as a OHSAS 18001 certified in-house auditor and certified career coach, he continues to contribute passionately in the HR field as a HR business partner.

Faeza Sirajudin

Faeza graduated from Nanyang Technological University (Singapore) with a Bachelor’s in Arts (English). She was the top graduate of her batch and was awarded the British Council Gold Medal. While doing her undergraduate studies, she concurrently studied education and was awarded a Diploma in Education for Primary and Secondary Education. Subsequently, she did a post-graduate in NUS in English & Comparative Literature.


Faeza has worked in a Singapore Primary School for four years after her graduation, teaching English and Math. In 2000, she joined a private English Enrichment centre called Creative Horizons where she has been working ever since and subsequently became a partner and director of Creative Horizons in 2007.
Besides her professional history, she also volunteers at AWARE and have been on the board since 2011. Currently, she is the vice-president but have also held the post of vice-treasurer. As part of the board of the NGO, she has experience in monitoring and evaluating the organisation’s programmes.

Carrol Seah

Carrol obtained her Master in Professional Accounting and Bachelor of Business Administration degrees at The University of Texas at Austin, Austin, Texas, USA in 1989.

 

Carrol has about 20 years of commercial experience ranging from an auditor with Ernst and Young, a Business Systems Analyst in Standard Chartered Bank, and a senior management position in a manufacturing firm. She has also been exposed to various industries/sectors including accounting and finance, banking, manufacturing, hotel and F&B retail.

 

Together with her extensive commercial experience, Carrol is currently a lecturer specializing in Business, Accounting and Finance. She is also involved in education for adult learners in lifelong learning and is currently a member of a development team for creating new Competency Standards under the WSQ ALM (Singapore Workforce Skills Attraction Leisure Management) new framework. In addition, Carrol has trained and facilitated several modules for corporate clients including McDonald’s Corporation and Singapore Grand Prix Pte Ltd – Formula 1 event.

Rohaizatul Anuar

Rohai completed both his Bachelor and Masters degree from Murdoch University. After graduation, he joined IT giant, Hewlett Packard, reporting to the Global HP team as part of the Process Re-engineering project HP was undertaking.


During his 10 years with Hewlett Packard, he managed multiple projects which required him to travel extensively to many parts of Asia and Europe.


Currently, Rohai is an adjunct lecturer with some leading private institutions in Singapore. With his vast experience in IT field, he shares his life experiences and imparts a great wealth of knowledge to his students.

Ivan Tan

Ivan had many years of corporate experiences in finance, taxation and auditing in private sectors and the Inland Revenue Department of Singapore. He was the chief financial officer (CFO) of a shipping firm for about 10 years. He worked as a Finance Manager for a SME in Singapore for about 7 years before started lecturing for the past 8 years.

 

He lectured in Singapore, Malaysia and Nanjing for the ACCA modules in Financial Accounting, Auditing, Accountant in Business, Business Law, Corporate Governance and Strategic Business Planning.

 

He was the prize winner for the ACCA Paper 3.4 (Business Information Management).

 

Professionally, he is a Chartered Accountant in Singapore and holds a Bachelor in Business Admin in Management (BBA) from the Latrobe University, Australia.

Allan completed his LLB (Second Lower) from University of London, B.A. in Economics (Merit) and B.Soc.Sci in Economics (Second Lower) from National University of Singapore in 2001. He also holds a Masters of Science (First Class) with University College Dublin , majoring in Finance.

 

After graduation, Allan joined PSA Corporation Ltd to explore his interest in operations and logistics management. In 2001,Allan joined Prudential as an agent. He was awarded top 20 Rookie Agent in 2002 and subsequently top 20 Rookie Manager in 2005. In 2007, Allan worked as a property agent with ERA. He was promoted in 2008 as Senior Manager.



With a passion to teach and impart his knowledge, he became an adjunct lecturer with various private institutions, teaching Law, Finance and Economics for James Cook and Kaplan in Singapore.

Eileen Chong

Eileen graduated with MBA (Hull), BA (Hons) (Bradford) and a Diploma in TESOL from the London Teacher Training Centre. She is also a certified ACTA trainer instructor. She was a Head of Department for the Diploma and Certificate programs of a private school. Her areas of specializations include soft skills training, business management modules (Higher Education), academic, business and conversational English.

 

Eileen’s training style is very interactive and she is committed to motivating her students to go beyond just gaining knowledge but getting them to transfer the knowledge into workable and realistic application. She has opportunities to work closely with NTUC (National Trades Union Congress) learning hub to conduct Work-place Literacy Programmes. Over the past few years, she has trained people from different parts of Asia including Malaysia, China, Philippines, Indonesia, Thailand, Myanmar and Taiwan.

Miss Hope started her teaching career 15 years ago, including 6 years as university lecturer teaching the University of Wales and Raffles College of Design and Commerce Programmes in Singapore, and three years at the University of Baguio in Philippines. Her teaching and research expertise are mainly in management, human resources management, strategic management and leadership. She has also passed the “Capital Markets and Financial Advisory” Examination in Singapore.

 

Currently, she's a financial services consultant in AIA Singapore and an aspiring MDRT member.

William has taught many years both in Public Institutions of Higher learning and leading Private Institutions covering a broad range of business, tourism and hospitality modules. He has taught many local students, international students and continuing education students at different levels including Diploma, Advanced Diploma, Degree and Masters levels. Prior to that, he had worked in Sales & Marketing across different tourism and hospitality sectors of the industry including airlines, travel agencies and hotels.
Having received his undergraduate and graduate degrees from US, William also has good international business working experience.


He strongly believes in sharing his practical experience with his students. His teaching philosophy includes encouraging and incentivizing students to do well in their areas of interests and passion. Students are also strongly encouraged to have an inquisitive mind in asking questions and seeking clarifications in order to stay relevant and in the frontier in this ever changing business world.

For more than 10 years now, she has been lecturing Business and Accounting modules at Diploma and undergraduate levels, as well as professional examinations such as the ACCA, FIA and the Singapore QP Foundations Programme. Through active engagement and a focussed approach, she creates an effective learning environment for her students and has helped many to achieve their goals. Prior to lecturing, she worked in areas of business analysis and in-house training.
